The Dor Haba Collaborative

Since our last update in mid-August, we hosted a Dor Haba (Rising Generation) collaboration not far from Haifa, a coastal city in the North of Israel. A smaller number of local teenagers, according to COVID-19 guidelines, came together for three days of worship, songwriting, fellowship, teaching, and Kingdom creativity.

They spent three days together learning, playing, eating, writing songs, recording, and making art. The depth of relationships reached in such a short amount of time was amazing.
Friendships were formed that will surely continue for years to come, especially between the Messianic Jewish and Arab youth.

The messages were all around the theme of being “in sync with His Heart”. What it means to know God’s Heart, to walk closely with Him, to receive creativity from Him, and to offer a sacrifice of praise to Him.
Many of them responded to the Lord in a very significant way. They were very open and honest in the times of prayer we had about struggles they’ve been facing. They were also very willing to receive prayer.

On the last evening, we had a worship time on the beach boardwalk. They played the songs they had written about the Lord. Their joy was evident, drawing many to stop, listen and begin conversations.

What’s been special about the Dor Haba Collaborative is that instead of inviting the youth to come to a big youth camp, we are going to their congregations and their cities to be with them there in a more intimate, regular setting. We are partnering with the pastors and youth pastors in order to do this, and that partnership has been a very beautiful thing.

Music videos for these songs, produced and filmed by the youth, are coming soon!

As part of a worship time I led for our congregational Zoom meeting, I sang one of these songs in Hebrew. It was written by a handful of preteens. Everyone was really blessed and couldn’t believe it was written by youth.
The Prayer Room… and a New Voice of One Calling Recording
We are excited about our new recording of “Oceans” in Hebrew and Arabic. However, it’s release has been slightly delayed because the music video had to be put on hold due to the second lockdown that has begun here in Israel.
Please pray it will be released soon. And if you’d like to hear the song already, you can by clicking here.
The prayer room at the Succat Hallel house of prayer in Jerusalem is still going strong, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by God’s grace. We appreciate your prayers for this also.

Three hours are now being covered every Wednesday evening by a group of Korean kids and teenagers who are leading prayer and worship. They are calling themselves Dor Haba (Next Generation) in Korean!

Local children and teenagers are coming regularly and even covering more hours than before during this COVID-19 season. The preteens have been covering quite a lot of hours even during the night, praying for nations and leaders.

The wonderful thing is that they’re getting the vision for 24/7 prayer and how they can be a part of it, even if for now they are once again covering their hours from home over Zoom due to the lockdown.
Thank you for keeping these young “priests” in your prayers. We look forward to sharing their creative projects with you as they get finished. All of them as part of this new and ongoing “Dor Haba Collaborative”.
In His love and perfect peace,
Tal Rosenfeld
