Continuing to Stand in Worship in Jerusalem | Newsletter January 2021
I hope you are doing well despite the challenging financial, political, and medical circumstances in the world right now. Now is the time to be a people down on our knees in prayer. A people who wear the sandals of the good news of peace as we reach out to the lost around us.
Now more than ever, people need Yeshua! And we happen to know Him! So be encouraged, strengthened and filled with the spirit. The scripture that is on my heart for us today is from Psalms 40:1-3:
“I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He lifted me up from the pit of despair, out of the miry clay; He set my feet upon a rock, and made my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord…” – Psalms 40:1-3
Let’s walk in the truth of this scripture today! In Israel, the US, Europe, Australia, Korea… no matter where you are and what’s going on in your country. Let’s keep our eyes on Him and keep our feet upon the Rock (not in the mire of this world), and let’s sing a song of praise to our Maker so that many will put their trust in Yeshua!
Although we are currently in lockdown, these past months have been very active in the house of prayer in Jerusalem. Young local Israelis have been covering hours in the prayer room and sharing the Lord with people on their way there – in buses, in stores, at doctor’s offices. The pandemic may stop many things in our everyday lives but it can not stop the Kingdom of God moving through us, right?
Young people are leading prayer and worship in groups. Here are some pictures and videos from the prayer room:
As soon as the lockdown lifts we’d like to do a Dor Haba weekend for older kids and teenagers, providing them with more training and tools for worship and prayer, and for shining God’s light in their nation.
We’d also like to take the middle school group to meet with believing Arab teens their age in Nazareth, so they can have fellowship and training together.
Please pray that the COVID-19 situation in Israel will calm down so that these initiatives will be possible.
Projects in the Works
We have begun working on a Kingdom project that was birthed during the collaborative event Dor Haba had this summer – a Bible podcast with scriptures read by youth in Hebrew and Arabic in the simplest translations, easy for teenagers to relate to and understand. As well as original music produced by Jewish and Arab teenagers that will play in the background.
We are very excited about this project and would appreciate your prayers for it! Also, for the short graphic novel about the journey of a teenager that deals with the issue of freedom from bondage and identity.
Young people from all over the country are drawing illustrations for this. It will include scriptures from the Bible in Hebrew and Arabic on these very topics.
The idea behind both of these projects is that Jewish and Arab believers in Yeshua learn to work together creatively for the advancement of the kingdom in Israel and the Middle East.
We hope you enjoyed our latest release of Oceans in Hebrew and Arabic. We are now working on three original songs with videos, two in Hebrew and one in Arabic, each written by young local worship leaders.
Thank you for partnering with us for these projects and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
If you live in the US, please know that you are in our prayers and in the prayers of the youth meeting in the house of prayer, especially this week of the inauguration and all that entails.
In His peace that surpasses all understanding and in His faithful presence,
